2020 - 2021
This is an urban landscape photography project, shot in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. I roamed all around the city, searching for places where a divergency between new and old, what has evolved and what has not, could be found: imperfections, fragments (in portuguese: fragmentos) - places that have not been given the polish a construction usually gets when it's complete, whether due to poor planning, lack of attention, or lack of interest.
This body of work aims to raise awareness to neglect and abandonment, that are part of the territory that constitutes the city of Vila Nova de Gaia, and are also part of the view that some of the population has from their residencies.
This project was shot as part of the Professional Photography Course at IPCI — Instituto de Produção Cultural & Imagem.
