My name is David Oliveira, and I'm a photojournalist based out of Porto district, in Portugal.
My photographic journey began ten years ago. I'd always been seriously drawn to journalism, photojournalism and documentary. As my photography matured over the years, I realised that I too could take part in that world.
With my ambitions set, I finally invested in a professional photography course, and I graduated at IPCI — Instituto de Produção Cultural & Imagem, in 2021. Since then, I continue covering news and stories, while developing a few personal projects on the side.
Currently, I'm a full-time freelance photographer, with special focus on photojournalism, events and music photography. On occasions, I take on wedding photography. My wedding portfolio is not publicly exhibited, but it may be shown upon request.
I regularly work with a few news agencies, and my photographs have been seen in several newspapers and magazines, such as DW, Daily Mail, CNN, Politico, Forbes, El País, L'Humanité, Luxemburger Wort, Expresso, Jornal de Notícias and many others.
I am also a certified drone pilot for OPEN category.
